Book Review: Beyond the Deepwoods by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddel

This 278-page book is about a child who is abandoned in the dangerous Deepwoods at birth. He is named Twig and brought up by a family of woodtrolls. Twig always thought that he was one of them until one night, he realizes that he isn’t. He sets out to find out what he really is and meets a banderbear along the way. He encounters goblins, trogs, bloodthirsty beasts, trees that eat meat along the way. The only thing that is keeping him going is finding his true identity. I would rate this book 4 stars out of 5 because I enjoyed the adventures Twig gets himself into along the way as he finds his destiny.
