Book Review: Deadweather and Sunrise by Geoff Rodkey

This 296-page book is about a thirteen-year old boy named Egg. He grew up on a sweltering, extremely hot island called Deadweather along with pirates and his siblings who beat him up at every chance. One day, his father took him and his siblings to the island of Sunrise to meet Roger Pembroke, a very rich man who controls nearly everything on the island. Roger kills Egg’s father and siblings and attempts to kill Egg, but he escaped and is on the run among cuthroats, evil businessmen, and the legends of a great treasure. His only allies are a girl named Millicent and a one-handed cabin boy. I would rate this book 4.5 stars out of 5 because it was very exciting throughout the whole book and there was a lot of action and narrow escapes.
