This book is about Sallis ti Ath, a sick boy who is cured by Elvallon, a touch-healer. Elvallon reveals that Sallis is Gifted, meaning that he is one of the few born to touch the power that allows the universe to exist. After trying to teach Sallis, Elvallon discovers that Sallis does the opposite of what touch-healers do. He was born to kill. I would rate this book 4 stars out of 5 because I enjoyed the plot and the continuous action throughout the book, but I thought it was too short.
This book is about Brydon, a teenager chosen by the princess to complete a near-impossible quest of borrowing the magic Gauntlet of Ven-Kerrick. If he completes the quest, he marries the princess and becomes King. If he fails, he is exiled from the kingdom. Brydon planned for attempted assassinations and dangerous lands, but he didn’t expect the Gauntlet to be missing, nor to find out that the Kerrick royal family was murdered. Along the way, he becomes friends with his would-be assassin and falls in love with a “mute” girl. Will Brydon complete his quest? Where will his loyalties lie? I would rate this book 4.5 stars because it is a good, long read filled with excitement and adventure.
